This past weekend, our team proudly participated in the 2nd IFK Canada Championship "Bushido" held in Montreal.

We brought a team of 13 athletes to this prestigious event. The tournament was organized at a very high level and brought together strong competitors from various organizations and schools. Despite a few minor inconsistencies in judging, both the Kata and Kumite divisions demonstrated an impressive level of skill, dedication, and sportsmanship.

Kata Results

🥇 Arlyn Vehter – 1st Place

🥇 Loryan Vehter – 1st Place

🥇 Senpai Arseniy Zaslavskiy – 1st Place

🥈 Senpai Amelie Vainshtein – 2nd Place

🥉 Aithan Krief – 3rd Place

Camila Palacio placed 4th in a very challenging division of 11 competitors, many of whom were at higher levels. She demonstrated strong spirit and a high level of technique throughout her performances.

Special recognition goes to Senpai Dany Krief and Senpai Oleg Vainshtein, who placed 4th and 5th respectively in a division of 11 competitors. The difference between their scores and the podium positions was only 0.1 point, demonstrating the consistently high level of preparation and performance shown by our athletes.

Kumite Results

🥇 Liam Traiberg – 1st Place

Liam's victory was particularly impressive. He fought through five extremely demanding matches, winning every single one by Ippon. His final bout was against a highly experienced and well-prepared opponent who had a significant size advantage, standing nearly a full head taller.

Through a combination of technical skill, determination, physical strength, and true Kyokushin spirit, Liam overcame every challenge placed before him and earned a well-deserved championship title.

Acknowledgements

I would like to extend special recognition to all of our athletes who did not reach the podium this time. Every one of you demonstrated strong technique, courage, discipline, and the fighting spirit of Kyokushin.

You are already winners because you had the courage to step onto the tatami and test yourselves. Not everyone is willing to take that step. The experience gained through competition is invaluable, and we will continue working hard together to become even stronger.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to all parents, family members, friends, and supporters, including those who did not compete but contributed directly to our training process and preparation. Your support, encouragement, and dedication play a crucial role in every success we achieve.

The journey continues. Ahead of us are months of preparation for new tournaments and new challenges. We will carefully analyze our mistakes, learn from them, and strengthen our strongest qualities even further.

Osu!
