On Saturday, December 7th, Geminos Dojo had the honor of hosting Shihan Camille Ohan and his team of Black Belts from Montreal for a one-day marathon training seminar in Bradford, ON. This event marked an incredible opportunity for our students to deepen their understanding of Kyokushin Karate under the guidance of highly experienced practitioners.
Overview of the Seminar
The seminar was structured into three comprehensive training sessions to accommodate all levels of students:
Session 1: For All Ages and Ranks
The day began with an inclusive session, bringing together students of all ages and ranks. This session focused on foundational KIHON (basic techniques), ensuring every participant could build a strong base for more advanced skills.
Session 2: For Advanced Students (6 Kyu and Up)
The second session catered to advanced students, emphasizing more complex KATA (forms) training and KUMITE (fighting) drills. Participants explored BUNKAI (application), learning how to interpret and apply KATA movements in practical scenarios.
Session 3: For Brown and Black Belts
The final session was an intensive training for senior students, focusing on advanced KIHON and KATA techniques, drills, and innovative training approaches. Shihan and his team shared valuable insights and methods, enriching the training experience for all senior practitioners.

The seminar concluded with a Sayonara Party held at a humble and authentic Japanese restaurant. We came together to celebrate the success of the day, enjoying delicious food and camaraderie.
