š„ What is āTameshiwariā?
Tameshiwari (試ćå²ć)Ā means ātest breakingā - a traditional Kyokushin Karate practice where martial artists break boards, tiles, or other materials using their hands, feet, elbows, or other parts of the body. Itās not about strength alone ā itās a powerful test of focus, spirit, precision, and control.
š§ Why We Break in Kyokushin
In Kyokushin Karate, Tameshiwari is more than a demonstration - itās a tool of self-discovery and discipline. When a karateka faces the board, they face their own fear and doubt. The moment of the strike is not physical ā itās mental. The break represents the unity of mind, body, and spiritĀ ā the essence of āKyokushin,ā the Ultimate Truth.
